~Where You'll Be Heard~

Meet The Therapist

A bit about who I am and how I came to this work.

My journey into counselling grew from a long-standing interest in people, relationships, and mental health. Before training as a counsellor, I spent many years working with children, young people, and families in a variety of settings. Through this work, I saw how much of a difference it can make when someone feels genuinely heard, understood, and accepted.

Over time, this interest developed into a passion for counselling and supporting people through life's challenges. I completed my degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy and have since gained experience working with clients facing anxiety, low mood, grief, trauma, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and emotional overwhelm.

As someone who is neurodivergent myself, I understand that people experience the world in different ways. This has helped shape my belief that there is no single "right" way to think, feel, communicate, or navigate life. I aim to offer a flexible and accepting therapeutic space where people can be themselves without fear of judgement.

I am naturally curious and enjoy learning about people and the many ways we make sense of our experiences. I regularly undertake additional training and professional development, particularly in areas such as neurodiversity, creative counselling approaches, relationship diversity, sexuality, ethical non-monogamy, kink, and emerging developments in counselling and psychotherapy.

Above all, I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of meaningful change. My aim is to be warm, genuine, approachable, and easy to talk to, creating a space where you can feel safe enough to explore whatever is on your mind, at your own pace.

My Approach

I work with individuals aged 13 and over, offering one-to-one counselling in person, online, and through walk-and-talk therapy across Hertfordshire and West Essex. My practice is grounded in person-centred counselling, meaning our work together is led by you, your experiences, and what feels most important in your life. I aim to provide a safe, accepting, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, relationships, and challenges at your own pace.

I recognise that not everyone finds it easy to express themselves through conversation alone. Alongside traditional talking therapy, I may incorporate creative counselling techniques, including visual aids, Lego®, sand tray work, therapeutic cards, fidget toys, pebbles, arts and crafts, figures, games, and other experiential approaches. These can be particularly helpful for young people, neurodivergent clients, including those with ADHD, and anyone who finds creative expression a more comfortable way of exploring thoughts, emotions, and experiences.

Every client is unique, and I believe therapy should reflect that. Whether we are talking, walking, creating, reflecting, or simply sitting with difficult feelings together, my aim is to adapt the therapeutic process to suit you and create a space where meaningful growth, self-understanding, and positive change can take place.
